Hiring a worker on StoreWorkers takes about a minute. This is what that minute looks like, screen by screen, so you know what you are agreeing to before you press anything.
Before you start: connect the store
The crew cannot start until it can see your store. Connecting takes you to Shopify to approve read access to orders, products, inventory and customers. That is the whole list. We do not ask for write permission at this stage, and you can check that on your Shopify apps page at any time.
Once connected, your crew home shows what we found: how many products, how many orders, which other apps have left traces on your data. Everything else on the hiring page is ranked from that.
Step one: pick the job
The catalogue has eleven jobs, from inventory and order management to SEO, support triage, fraud watch and pricing. Each card shows what the worker does in a sentence, and, where we have evidence from your store, why it is a fit. "With no orders yet, your 28 product pages are the main way people will find you" is the kind of line you will see on the SEO worker's card.
The best fit for your store is marked. Pick any of them.
Step two: set the rules
This is where you name them and decide how they work.
The name is what you will see whenever they report back. Pick whatever you like. You can also choose how we refer to them, or let us pick.
The shift is when they work. Some jobs run around the clock, some clock in on a schedule, some sit quiet until something happens in your store, and some only run when you ask. Each job offers the shifts that make sense for it.
The job's own settings come next, with the recommended values already selected. For the order worker that is how many hours an order can sit before it counts as stuck, and the refund size below which an approval becomes a one-tap. For the inventory guardian it is the reorder lead time. We pick the recommendation from what your store shows us; you can accept it or nudge it, and change it any time from the worker's page later.
The spending cap is the most tokens the worker may use in a day. It cannot be raised above what the job was designed for, and the worker stops and tells you when it gets close.
Where they reach you is your choice of Telegram, email or the dashboard for anything urgent. Everything else waits in the work log.
Step three: meet them
The last screen shows exactly who turns up. Some jobs are a single worker; some are a small team, like a watcher who reads and a fixer who drafts. For each one you see what they read on their own, what they will always ask you first, and the fixed list of things no worker can do without you.
On the right you see their first three days in one paragraph, how they will reach you, and what they cost. Then you start the trial.
What happens when you press start
The worker is placed on the rota with the shift you chose. Their settings and spending cap are saved. They begin in shadow mode: for three days they do the whole job and change nothing, and each shift ends with a note in the work log saying what they would have done.
At any point you can give them a break, which stops shifts and costs nothing while they rest, or let them go, which keeps their work log on record. When the three days are up, you decide what they may do on their own, one kind of task at a time.
That is the whole thing. Pick, set, meet, watch, decide.
